Rachel had always loved exploring. Granted she had never expected her exploring to end this way. An entirely new world and no way that she knew of to get home. It was probably a good thing she'd always been a bit of a loner back there or she would be a lot more upset. As it was once she figured there was no going back Rachel had shrugged and gone about traveling this new world. It was pretty great. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, and it had taken her no time at all to learn that someone like her could make a living traveling and bringing back what she found. Even her maps had worth. It seemed the landscape shifted every once in a while so recent maps to make sure nothing major had changed were valuable.
There was one thing she wasn't so great at. As fun as it was to wander the world with her pets, Rachel did not have sea legs. And the ocean connected pretty much everything in this world. If she was going to keep going, she was going to have to figure out sailing. Or at least how to keep her balance when on a ship. To that end she was down at the docks in one of the smaller towns that she knew sold small sailboats. Hopefully she could rent one for the day to learn.

"TWO-HUNDRED WISPS?! ARE YOU MAD?" a brunette nearly shrieked at the salesman behind the counter. Her hair was singed at the tips, smoky goggles hanging loosely around her neck and a lightningrod used as a leg rest. She looked aghast at him, gesturing angrily to the generator-like apparatus being inspected at the counter. The salesman shook his head. The condition of this power generator is worse for wear, Alice. I have told you several times that this is unacceptable to sell to us! 200 is as high as I'll go." Alice's hair prickled as she scoffed. "Well excuse me for getting the power you need to feed your shop directly from LIGHTNING. Or did you forget that part?"
"Solar power is much cleaner looking and we've been considering refurbishing with that instead. And it's far less noisy." Alice looked absolutely livid at him. "Solar power is a SHAM. If those panels get damaged the cost of disposing them is exponentially greater than the money you save from the energy they produce." She countered with a finger held up to stop him from interrupting her speech. However, she took her generator from the countertop and marched out the window. "Nevermind. We're done here. Enjoy living in darkness until you get your solar panels up and running, which costs over five times the price of my generators. Ciao." Alice didn't even let the man speak his 'no, wait!' before opening the door to exit the shop.
"Bad day?" From her left, a Raven approached the brunette human, perching on her shoulder where her jacket held extra padding just so they could both be comfortable walking together. "You got that right, Iris. Last week solar energy was the last thing on big bully Bobby's mind. Now I guess he reconsidered. It's time to head home." The Raven nodded, letting Alice lead the way. "Back to the ship then." Iris chirruped. He tried to find a way to lighten the mood before They approached their vessel. "Hey, what if we met someone who wanted to sail with us? Wouldn't that be fun?" Alice snorted with a small grin.
"I don't think that's possible, darlin'. You know I'm an absolute disaster when it comes to sailing with others. My energy scares half the people I meet away and the other half are men who don't like taking orders from someone like me." She answered. "True. But what If? Would you like that?" Alice thought for a moment, nodding. "Yeh I think I would. Maybe show them my favorite part of living." Chatting idly with Iris, Alice didn't notice she was approaching someone until she bumped right into them on the docks. "O O F... sorry ma'am! Was just heading home!"

Rachel grinned at the other broadly. "That's fine. I was just looking around anyways. What are you carrying?" Beside her her loyal german shepherd panted and sat down leaning into Rachel. She scratched him behind the ears. Rachel felt almost out of place with how ordinary she looked in comparison to the others. No wings, no hooves, no fur. Just a normal human.
