With how I keep my windows, I am missing all of the extra visuals & buttons. They don't appear until I make my page fairly large.

That's part of the responsiveness with the game. Unfortunately, this functionality is something that has to be implemented since so many people will be accessing the site on much smaller screens. Once pets and avatars are working, they will be added to the mobile side navigation (what you see in the screenshot you have posted). While it may seem smaller, it still hosts the same amount of information that's in our enlarged layout.
